About Jeff Eben

How many WINS have YOU had today?

Jeff Eben is an award-winning educator, leader, author and speaker. A promising young athlete with dreams of a college football scholarship, Jeff sustained a catastrophic injury at 16 that left him paralyzed and tasked with building his life and career in a wheelchair. After graduating high school and earning his degree and teaching credential from Fresno State University, Jeff Eben enjoyed a 30 year career in public education that included coaching football and basketball, teaching, and administration. He has spent over 15 years as a principal, including being the founding principal of a National Blue Ribbon High School in the acclaimed Clovis Unified School District. Seeking a different leadership opportunity, Jeff spent the last years of his educator's career in Racine, Wisconsin where he was widely credited with the total cultural shift of a long time under-performing large urban high school.

His powerful story and unique philosophy of “Feel The Love” has taken him to speaking engagements around the world, including an educational roundtable at Oxford University in England. In 1998, Jeff was named Fresno County’s Administrator of the Year, and in 2006, he was inducted into the Clovis Hall of Fame for Lifetime Achievement in Education. In 2007, he was recognized by Fresno State as its Noted Alumnus, and his work in Wisconsin earned him the Distinguished Educator Award given by Phi Delta Kappa in 2013.

Jeff spent 4 years away from education when he was appointed Deputy Mayor of Fresno in 2007, followed by a stint as the CEO of the Fresno Convention and Visitors Bureau. He is the author of three books, including his autobiography “How Many Wins Have YOU Had Today?” Jeff is the proud father of 2 grown children, Jared and Noelle. They currently make Fresno California their home base.

Jared Eben
Vice President

Jeff’s oldest, Jared, is a gifted scholar, musician, and composer. He was raised in the How Many Wins environment at home and as a graduate of Clovis East High School where Jeff was principal. Jared was a graduate of Chapman University in Southern California where he was honored as the Outstanding Pianist and the Top Music Theory student in the school. He went on to New York University and earned his Master’s Degree in Piano Performance. Jared taught and performed at California State University Stanislaus, and is currently enrolled in his doctoral studies at UC Santa Barbara.

Together, Jeff and Jared have performed music in and around Fresno. They mix classic rock with jazz standards that are popular with any audience. Jared also has a large catalog of piano music that he performs as a soloist. If Jeff is spreading his How Many Wins message and you have an event where music is desired, inquire about including Jared in your package.

Noelle Eben

Jeff’s youngest, Noelle, is a talented scholar and student leader in her own right. She earned two degrees from UC Santa Barbara by the age of 21. Noelle went abroad to continue her studies and completed her Master’s Degree in Global Studies in the International Erasmus Mundus program. Noelle has studied in France, Denmark, and Germany and is a great example of being a global citizen. She is pursuing a career in Theater Education.

Noelle has worked with Jeff in creating a Leadership Camp that will put your students through games, activities, and experiences that promote team, unity, and pride. Her template can be modified for elementary, junior high, or high school. If Jeff is working with your staff, ask about bringing Noelle to engage your student leaders.

Jack Bohan
In Memoriam

The How Many Wins Foundation exists in loving memory of Jack Bohan, Jeff’s coach, mentor, and hero. Jack was an All Everything lineman for Fresno State University’s football team. He was a leader on the team and is credited with changing the fortunes of Bulldog Athletics with its historic win in the 1961 Mercy Bowl. Jack and his teammates are enshrined in the Fresno Athletic Hall of Fame.

After college, Jack entered teaching and found his way to Clovis High School in Central California. A man of deep personal faith, Jack created the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and, along with his wife Carol, opened their home to thousands of young teenagers. He was a great teacher and coach, but as a role model he had no peer. Jack Bohan lived every day committed to teaching young people how to celebrate life and be true to your moral purpose.

A skinny young center showed up in 1977 and became one of Jack’s "sons." When a water-skiing catastrophe struck Jeff Eben on October 2nd, 1977, Coach Bohan made the decision to be "the guy." The story of Jeff and Jack has been told around the world and in Jeff’s autobiography. You and your staff will be forever changed by Jack Bohan’s selfless actions and powerful life philosophy.

Sadly, Jack passed away while water skiing in 2007. He left his wife Carol, children Chris, Wendy, and Katie and their spouses and children.

Jeff Eben has committed his life to sharing the teachings of Jack Bohan.
